ONEWHEEL
Onewheel (America) - It took Kyle Doerksen 8 years of work, a lot of coffee and a few prototypes, but by the end of 2013 he had created a universal way of riding that many people could hardly believe. Kyle quit his day job, hired a team of like-minded people, launched Onewheel, and has been helping thousands of people experience moments of pure joy ever since.
Onewheel resembles a skateboard with only one wheel. It is powered by an electric motor and can reach speeds of up to 32 km per hour and can be used on any terrain.
The Onewheel's single wheel contains an electric motor that propels the person forward or backward, constantly making small adjustments to maintain balance. To use the board, you need to put your feet on either side of the wheel. The front foot is placed on a pressure-sensitive surface that detects when a person is on the board. To start the movement, you need to lean slightly in the direction in which you want to move, and to stop, just tear your heel off the surface after you have completely slowed down.
Each Onewheel is equipped with three internal accelerometers and gyroscopes that continuously measure the board's orientation in space. These monitors take readings approximately 14,000 times per second to tell the engine what to do, helping the rider balance and move.
Riding Onewheel you will get an unforgettable experience and feel like a person from the future!
